I can't ever have silence in the studio and sometimes my tunes get a little old.

Here are a couple of my favorite ways to entertain my ears.

1

The Prairie Home Companion, with Garrison Keillor

I got hooked on this radio show while fishing in Alaska. There are few things better than

listening to a good episode when the suns out and the fish are hitting.

Sure it gets a bit silly, and some of the skits can push the limits of obnoxiousness.

But they have insanely good musical guests and you can

always count on Garrison Keillor to brighten your day and drop pearls of wisdom.

Here is a recent re-broadcast of an episode with Wilco. If you like it, check out

others on their archive.

This radio show looks at a broad range of topics, from memory to zoos, and presents it

in an interesting and entertaining way. Here is an episode on songs that get stuck in your head.

If you work in an office you've probably been using this for awhile, but I just heard of

it and I'm hooked. Create your own station, hear new music similar to your favorite bands.

It's not always right on, but pretty damn good.
