My recent paintings are comprised of imagery from my travels at sea and to various coastal areas. Most of these travels are done in my work as a Merchant Marine, sailor, or commercial fisherman. I often layer days upon days by mixing imagery from different moments in time, combining skies/seas into one composition. Many works are done on materials that I either found or could find on board vessels: such as the paintings done on driftwood, fiberglass cloth that are merged with epoxy, or my recent paintings done on cardboard that I found in an abandoned Alaskan Cannery. Like a memory, the resulting painting is blurred between fact and creation.
